What a beautiful weekend we are having, hope you are too 🙂 Thank you Lord for a glorious weekend!

Act Like You Belong
During college, in our photojournalism class we followed the campaign between Obama and McCain. Our Photojourn Instructor told us to be confident, and always act like you belong with the press, and when we were beside the AP photographers, that’s just what we did. I enjoyed the press stage, the VIP passes, and the view although with the 300mm and 500mm we could have been further away and still would have gotten the shot.
One particular rally we were on the risers with the AP press, news stations, etc and I saw this little girl watching our every move. Glad I took the time away from Biden to get this photo. Knowing we are in her reflection makes me smile every time I see it 🙂
Lion at the Door
Before I could even open the door I heard the howling that shook the house and swayed the trees to and fro like twigs. Such a windy day outside, looks like March isn’t going out like a lamb.
Even with the wind, I couldn’t help but venture outside for an afternoon walk with my beautiful Sister and one of my best buddies, my Australian. Winter and I don’t mix well, like oil and vinegar. I come alive in the spring and while walking the wind helped me to shake off the winter blues. I want to be more active and what a great day to start a new goal. Love the blooming flowers, trees and shrubs, such a sweet, sweet smell and we all had a fabulous time 🙂
First Day of Spring… Equinox
Winter weather this year has been plentiful, and we are ready to see it leave. Here in the southeast we have had power outages from trees and limbs unused to the weight of the ice and snow. Are we are expecting another winter storm? Forecasts say yes.
As a photographer I have enjoyed our winter season. There are so many subjects to photograph that we haven’t had in years past, or since I’ve been alive. Below zero temperatures. I remember when I was young we used to have big snowfalls, enough to carve a tunnel through. Course I was a lot smaller 🙂
I am a spring, summer, fall type of person. I enjoy the occasional snow fall, snowball fight or fort, however, it’s time for you to go Old Man Winter. Bring on the tulip bulbs and birds chirping. Let’s look back at what we had a few days ago and then we can look forward! #oldmanwinter #firstdayofspring #ice #springequinox
Road trip
Today I celebrate 21 years of marriage with the love of my life. We are heading out for places unknown and I’m sure this will be an amazing day! We love to explore, we head down dirt roads, one time not knowing if we would make it to the end, those are the best! So excited to get started and I hope your day, everyday is fantastic!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas!
Harvest 2013
This is one of my favorite times of the year, when The Lord blesses our crops and we start to harvest. I love going out to my garden, rolling up the bottom of my shirt and filling it full with all kinds of vegetables. I planted late and most of the things I started in my greenhouse (that my loving husband made for me for our 20th anniversary, love you hun) so I am now just starting to get rewards. Happy Harvesting to you all 🙂
May the Lord bless your lives and harvest thoughout the year.
I have five :)
I am so excited. I have not been on in a while and when I come back I have five followers. This makes me smile and warms my heart. I just got through adding over 70 images on my facebook page, so if have not seen it then give it a try: http://www.facebook.com/pages/WQH-Photography/181087845248095
I am going to add a few here too out of the group. Ones I have been too busy to post. Here are a few:
Pumpkin Fever
Pumpkins are growing in our field of hope. I am getting excited and looking for new ones everyday. Each day I find a new green or yellow one. We planted several varieties and several varieties of gourds too. The pumpkins have yellow flowers and the some gourds have a white flower, others have yellow. The pumpkin plants and the whole process amaze me. Each plant has a male and female flower. The female opens only one day and depending on the weather only stays open a certain time. The pumpkin plant sometimes kills off a pumpkin that is weak so the stronger one can grow. Survival of the fittest, lol.
This evening I sat on the back of my SUV parked out beside the pumpkin field, listening to the crickets and the birds as they found their way to their nest to rest for the night. It was a calming visit and gave me time to sit, look around and keep my mind blank for a few minutes. The time was heavenly. Listening to the sky as it fell from evening to dusk, and all of God’s creatures humming along.
